Moving! By Ashley
We are in the process of moving. It doesn’t matter how many times I move; it always seems challenging. And even though I’m excited about the move, my spirit often feels heavy. I have about 20 boxes packed and about 20-30 more that I need to pack. Not to mention the furniture and all the decorations, tools, and miscellaneous boxes in the garage that also have to go with us; it’s a lot of stuff! Our move date is Sept. 15, so I’ve been trying to pack the things that are not vital to our existence and keep out the things we need. And y’all, it’s not a lot that we truthfully need on a day-to-day basis.
I’ve recently come across a guy named Light Watkins who is now just living out of his backpack. In fact, his new book is called Travel Light. When we finish moving, I plan to read it, and I’ll let you know what I think. 😀
Can you imagine living out of a backpack? What is vital to your existence? What would you miss? What do you hang on to that you could live without? What is something you could not live without?
In these packing days ahead, I’m trying to keep these questions in mind. Can I truly purge and pack a little lighter? I’m trying it, and hoping that in turn, it will make this girl feel a little or a lot lighter! Wish me luck!
