Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
My beautiful daughter just turned 19! Audrey is a multi-talented, multi-passionate young woman who has a big sweet heart!
One of my favorite things about Audrey is that she brings joy to people and is not even aware she is doing it. I cannot count the times someone has said to me, “Oh! You are Audrey’s mom. I just love her!” It’s no wonder that love, to her, is caring about someone unconditionally. She makes those around her feel loved.
Currently, Audrey’s favorite color is light blue. Like many people’s favorite color, hers has changed over the years. Something that has not changed, though, is her favorite food. This girl loves her mac-n-cheese. Now, I know that mac-n-cheese is considered a vegetable in the South, but much to this mother’s relief, she has added another new, healthier second favorite to her list. Acai bowls! She will even get the ones with the green base made with vegetables! She is a vegetarian who does not like many vegetables at all, so in my book, this new favorite is a win!
Although Audrey’s favorite pastimes are hanging out with her friends and reading realistic fiction, you will also find her listening to music and, more often than not, singing along with whatever she is listening to. She has a true musical gift, and I could not be happier that she is using it in her college choir and theatre. In fact, the above picture is her singing A Little Bit of Good in Everyone as Mary Sunshine in her first college musical, Chicago.
When Audrey travels, she prefers visiting family, but if she could go anywhere in the world, she would go on a European adventure. I look forward to the day she does this!
Audrey’s first belly laugh as a baby is one of my favorite memories of her. She was sitting on a blanket in front of me. I was doing something silly with one of her toys, and she started to laugh, I mean, really laugh. One of those laughs that starts in the belly and extends outward until your entire body is shaking.Pure joy! My wish for her this upcoming year is to have as many belly laughs as possible. To be unencumbered by stress and boundaries so that she can feel joy radiating through her, the same joy she gives to others. I love you, baby girl!
