Attention to the Details
By Ashley

This past April, I got to go to Boston to see my incredibly talented daughter perform in the Babson Player’s spring musical, Chicago. The show was excellent, and I am exceedingly grateful I got to see it all the times they performed!

While in Boston, I stayed at an Air BnB. Now I have done my fair share of staying at BnB’s as of late, but this one absolutely wowed me. It was situated on the first floor of a much older home, so I was nervous about it at first. Upon entering this quaint space, my nerves were quickly calmed. It smelled clean but not overly perfumed, and the space just felt good. So much thought and care had gone into the details to make this place five stars for sure…from some of the most comfortable beds and soft sheets to a stocked kitchen with oh so much more than the kitchen sink! Andrea, the owner, had even taken allergies into consideration when providing snacks for us. She didn’t know I was allergic to nuts, but a bag of chocolate sunflower butter and dark chocolate cups sat among the granola bars and varieties of teas and coffee. Thoughtful!

The place was also decorated with her photographs, which are awesome! Here is a link to her work if you want to take a peek!

I can tell that both the BnB and her photography are much more than jobs, they are passions, and I can also tell she honestly cares about the detail which she provides for both.

How much more lovely would the world be if we all cared about the details? Not necessarily tea and coffee details, but what if we made a conscious effort to smile more at strangers? What if we held the door open for someone who was struggling or even paid an unexpected positive compliment to a waiter, waitress, or manager for a job well done on a meal or service? What if we all, just for a little while, or maybe a long while, paid more attention to the details?

Thank you, Andrea, for a great stay in Boston! And y’all, pay attention to some details and let me know how it goes!

Until next time,

Ashley
